Aged Care Employee Day is an official day to thank, honour, recognise and celebrate the hundreds of thousands of people who work in the aged care industry across Australia.

Working in aged care requires a very special person, whether that’s cooking, cleaning, caring, helping to pay a bill, or fixing a wheelchair and I am incredibly proud of our workforce. They are a passionate group who develop meaningful connections with those in their care, as well as their families and friends. Many go above and beyond to make a very special moment for those living with us,” says Angelia Dixon, Chief Executive Officer at Andrew Kerr Care.

On Wednesday 7th August 2019, please reach out to those who you know that work in this valuable industry and help recognise the incredible contribution they make to the lives of older Australians.

How can you get involved?

(1) Please spread the word! Please let your friends and family know that a new national day has been created for this special group of people!

(2) Please take a moment to say thank you!  If you know someone who works in aged care, or if a family member or friend is cared for by an aged care employee, please say thanks and let them know how much you appreciate what they do.

(3) Please share a positive story! Please post a story or a photo sharing a story about an aged care employee who has helped you or a loved one on social media, with #ACED2019
