Caring for the aged in our community

Andrew Kerr Care

Managing the moments.
for when visiting Andrew Kerr.

We are very pleased to let you know that we are returning to face to face visits at Andrew Kerr Care. The Victorian government is still cautious about keeping residents and staff safe in aged care and there are still some restrictions in place for visitors.

Currently the visiting hours are: Mondays and Saturdays 2pm to 4pm and Wednesdays and Fridays 10am to 12 noon. Please call reception during business hours to arrange a visit on 5975 6334

Please find the following guidelines that come into effect from Monday 16th November.

  1. Only one (1) household can visit a resident per day for up to two (2) hours, subject to density quotients
  2. The density quotient for Andrew Kerr Care means no more than three (3) people in a resident’s room, including the resident at any one time
  3. If your household has more than two (2) people who wish to visit at the same time, given the size of resident rooms, the visit will need to be outdoors. Please contact Stella at Reception during business hours to arrange an outdoor visit on 5975 6334
  4. Parents or guardians must complete the visitor declaration for children (persons under 18) who are visiting
  5. The visits must (excluding households with more than two (2) people visiting at the same time) still occur within the resident’s room and social distancing must be observed
  6. It is still important for visitors not to remain in communal areas
  7. Precautionary measures remain in place, including pre-screening requirements (temperature checks and the completion of a legally binding Declaration form) every time a visitor enters the facility. To keep everyone safe if you do not meet the entry criteria you will not be able to enter
  8. All visitors (except children under 12 years old) must wear a face mask and a shield and adhere to hand hygiene and social distancing requirements
  9. Families providing assistance such as feeding their loved one, visit under separate rules which means if people from different households are providing assistance, this can continue
  10. We ask that everyone to call to book the start time of their visit during the visiting times listed above which will be allocated every 10 minutes
  11. Please come to the main entrance for your visit. During your first visit we encourage you to take home visitor declaration forms so you can pre fill them in, which will speed up the visitor screening process
  12. We are keeping visiting hours and days the same for now and will review again in two (2) weeks

We also encourage families to keep in contact with their loved ones using Skype or phone calls.
